Ukrainian Culture in the Heart of Europe: Celebrating 35 Years of Ukraine’s Independence in Vienna

Lighthouse Global Association joined the Independence Day celebrations in Vienna

As part of the celebrations marking the 35th anniversary of the restoration of Ukrainian independence, a large-scale concert was held at Maria-Theresien-Platz in Vienna.

The celebration brought the Ukrainian community together through music and culture — helping people stay connected to home while also sharing Ukrainian traditions with Austrian and international audiences.

Lighthouse Global Association provided organizational and logistical support to the Ukrainian artists Leleka, Yaroslav Dzhus and Artem Fesko during their stay in Vienna. The artists performed on stage as part of the Independence Day celebrations.

For us, it was important to take care of the details so that the artists could focus on what mattered most — their music and connecting with the audience.

For Lighthouse Global Association, supporting Ukrainian culture abroad goes far beyond organizing events. It is an opportunity to tell Ukraine’s story through music, art and personal stories, to create spaces that bring Ukrainians together and to introduce international audiences to contemporary Ukraine.

We are happy to be part of events where Ukrainian culture is celebrated through music, live performances, and meaningful encounters. Moments like these remind us how deeply our culture is present in the simplest things — a song, a familiar melody, a Ukrainian word, a warm encounter, or a celebration shared with others.

And no matter where we are, Ukrainian culture stays with us and always finds a place — even in the very heart of Vienna.

We are grateful to all our partners, organizers, artists, volunteers and guests who made this day so special!

💙💛 Happy Independence Day, Ukraine!
