Red-White-Red plus Card: Practical Guidance for Ukrainians in Austria

On 27 August 2026, the second information session in a planned series of meetings for Ukrainians in Austria took place at the Lighthouse Global Association office in partnership with the International Bureau of Legal Aid.
This time, the session focused on the Red-White-Red Card (Rot-Weiß-Rot-Karte) and the Red-White-Red Card Plus (Rot-Weiß-Rot-Karte plus), a highly relevant topic for those who plan to work, grow protessionally and build their tuture in Austria.
During the session, participants received practical information about the specific features of these types of residence permits, the requirements for obtaining and renewing them, employment opportunities and their prospects for continuing to live in Austria.
The meeting took place in a warm and open atmosphere, with lively discussions and many questions. Participants particularly appreciated the opportunity to explore not only the general rules but also practical situations that Ukrainians may encounter when applying for a residence permit or changing their residence status.
